TdC Century Prep Series
A century ride of 100 miles is a goal for many cyclists! In preparation for the ‘Tour des Chutes’ on July 8th, 2017, Bend Bella Cyclists will be featuring a series of weekly training rides.
This 10 week training plan will help you reach that goal. This type of training schedule is a guide to help you increase your mileage gradually over a number of weeks. By gradually increasing your mileage over a period of time, you help to avoid injury, burnout and over-fatigue. This distance, along with your weekly cumulative mileage total, will get you ready for that ultimate goal.
This 10-week training plan assumes you are in shape at the start to be able to ride 20 miles comfortably. That’s a 2 hour ride at an easy 14-16mph pace. If this is more than where you are, consider a metric century (100km=62 miles) as an alternative goal for now.
TdC Century Prep Series: Training Ride #7: Green Ridge/Wilt/Indian Ford
When: Thursday June 15. Ready to roll at 8:00 AM
Where: Meet at Fir Street Park, Sisters, Oregon (map)
Ride Details: Training Ride #7: There are four legs to this route. Start at the Fir Street Park in Sisters. Begin with a short jaunt up Barclay Drive for a two mile climb. Then out to Indian Ford to Green Ridge and back. Back on Camp Polk to the top of Wilt and back. Head out Camp Polk to Cloverdale Loop, then back into town by way of Creekside Dr. Your total mileage for this week should be 99 miles. This ride is for intermediate or better riders. The rider should be comfortable with moderate distances with increased elevation gain and loss. All riders have an obligation to the ride coordinator to let her know if they are leaving the ride. If you wish to do this ride, but will not be with the group the whole time, please print off a map for your ride, and let the ride leader know of your plans. Bella rides are “no drop” rides. No one will get left behind unless they choose to cut a ride short, want to go faster than the group or take a different route. When you leave the group, you are on your own.

Non-members are welcome on their first ride without a membership but must sign a waiver and give it to the ride leader before the ride.
