RESCHEDULED DATE: BUILD A FENCE FOR A FIDO
October 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Organizer: Laury Riley 541-408-4338 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Address: 3335 NW Arrowleaf Ct, Bend 97703
Good news! Thanks to some generous Bellas, I have received enough pledges to build a fence for a poor dog who is currently spending its days chained up in a yard somewhere, unable to run free. This money will be donated to Fences For Fido (FFF), a local organization. If there is enough interest from our members, we could help build this fence and put the Bella name on a sign at the site.
If you are a dog/animal lover, and would like to learn more about FFF, please come to my home (see address above) for an informational meeting. People from this organization will be there to tell you what they do and how you can help in various ways. Food and beverages will be served. After hearing the presentation you can decide if it is something that you would like to help with. There is absolutely no obligation to attend this meeting. Please come and socialize with other Bellas and learn about this opportunity. You are also welcome to bring guests who may be interested.
If there are enough Bella volunteers, we will select a date to build a fence, along with an experienced crew from FFF. They do the hard part of building fences, and we can help with easier tasks. Fences are built on weekends, and take only a few hours. I have attended a fence-build, and it is a very rewarding experience to see the dog finally run free in its new space.
Not all dogs in Central Oregon are pampered. Some are tethered to a chain 24 hours a day because their owners can’t afford a fence, or don’t think about what kind of life their dog has. FFF builds a fence for those who need one, at no cost to the family. It allows the dogs to run around in the backyard, and improves their lives as well as making the family and neighborhood happier! People can play with their dog at home instead of driving to a dog park (which they seldom get around to), and neighbors no longer have to look at or walk past a sad or angry dog.
Are you looking for something to do when biking season is over? This is a great cause! I know there are many causes out there, and maybe this is one that interests you.
Please RSVP Yes if you plan to attend this meeting.
If you cannot attend but would like more info, please let me know. This is NOT an official Bella event. This is strictly voluntary, for those who might be interested.
Fences for Fido is a 501c3 organization. All donations are 100% tax deductible. FFF is a volunteer-only operation. There are no administrative expenses. All donations go directly to helping the dogs. For more information, go to www.fencesforfido.org.
